Harrison Bagley, a third-year student at the University of Adelaide, recently became our latest scholarship recipient at Ultra Australia. Starting his placement in December, Harrison is currently working within our project team, obtaining engineering exposure and learning more about the Ultra offering.
Harrison commented: “Whilst at Ultra, I have thoroughly enjoyed working as a part of the 'testing team' within the Electronic Warfare (EW)-based Peregrine project. Throughout my time so far, I have developed skills in all aspects of system engineering, including the verification of system requirements, and learning about agile development practices. I'm looking forward to continuing this work with the team and learning more about EW support measures.”
This $10,000 (AUD) scholarship is for a third or fourth-year student in electronic engineering, systems engineering, computer science or applied physics and provides an opportunity to take part in vacation work at Ultra. Harrison is studying a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronics) with a Bachelor of Mathematical and Computer Science.
This process began back in November 2019 and took a little longer than planned due to some COVID-related delays. Ultra Australia partnered with the Playford Memorial Trust Scholarship program and all three South Australian universities to offer our inaugural Ultra tertiary scholarship for the 2020 academic year. The program not only supports our local university STEM students but serves to further build industry awareness and raise our own business profile.
