Ultra Electronics Undersea Sensor Systems, Inc. (USSI) announces an important event and significant milestone in its rich 60 year history of providing Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) acoustic sensors to the United States and friendly allied nations. On September 25, 2018 USSI will celebrate the production of the 7,000,000th Sonobuoy since 1954.
A ceremony on September 25 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. will include representatives of USSI’s United States Naval customer (PMA-264), Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) and a representative from the local Fort Wayne Office of Congressman Jim Banks. This momentous occasion is a testament to the workforce in Northeast Indiana dedicated to support in the defense of our nation.
